Hagia Sophia, en grec Αγια Σοφια, en turc Ayasofya, en français « Sainte-Sophie » (« Sainte Sagesse ») est une ancienne église de Constantinople (VIe siècle), puis une mosquée d'Istanbul (XVe siècle). Aujourd'hui, elle n'est plus un lieu de culte mais un musée (1934). Son esplanade est à la mesure de la gloire de Byzance. La dédicace de l'église, souvent surnommée la Grande Église, a été vouée au Christ, "Sagesse de Dieu", selon les théologiens.
