Charles IX de France

Charles IX de France, né Charles-Maximilien de France (né le 27 juin 1550 au château royal de Saint-Germain-en-Laye, mort le 30 mai 1574 au château de Vincennes) fut roi de France de 1560 à 1574. Il fut le quatrième roi du rameau dit de Valois-Angoulême de la branche dite de Valois de la dynastie capétienne. Charles IX de France était le 3e fils et le 5e des 10 enfants d'Henri II (1519-1559), roi de France (1547-1559) et de Catherine de Médicis (1519-1589).
Il succéda à son frère aîné François II, disparu prématurément après moins d'un an et demi de règne.
